Commitment to the local community. Our Identity
Our work is aimed at residents, neighborhood associations, and local administrations seeking to improve the quality of life in their urban environments.
Commitment to the local community. We believe urban planning should be an inclusive process. We facilitate dialogue spaces where the community's voice is the main driver of development.
Dialogue and participation as the foundation. We integrate sustainability principles into every project, promoting the creation of green spaces, accessible mobility, and responsible land use.
Long-term vision for the city.We transform ideas into concrete and viable plans, combining technical analysis with the real needs perceived by those who live in the neighborhood.
Solutions tailored to each context. We communicate with clarity, closeness, and transparency. We avoid unnecessary technical jargon to foster open and constructive conversation with everyone.
Clarity and transparency at every step.We position ourselves as the bridge between the community and technical planning, always prioritizing collective well-being and the unique identity of each place.
The bridge between people and the city.We believe that true urban development is born from the community. Our project exists to transform neighborhood planning, putting people at the center of urbanism.
Our fundamental principle is that every neighborhood should be a meeting space, not just a set of buildings. Citizen participation is the key to sustainable development.
The effect we seek is clear: stronger, more connected, and resilient communities. We want residents to feel like active participants in the transformation of their environment.
Our work consists of facilitating dialogue between neighbors, technicians, and administration to create more human, inclusive, and future-ready cities.
Our Story
It all started with a simple observation: the most vibrant neighborhoods are not just a product of design, but of the active participation of their community. In 2015, we founded BarriosUrbanos with the conviction that urban development must be inclusive and people-centered. Our first pilot project in a residential district demonstrated the power of integrating neighbors' vision into planning, establishing a replicable model.
A key milestone was the decision in 2018 to adopt digital tools to facilitate citizen consultation on a larger scale, which allowed us to involve thousands of residents in co-creation processes. This approach has enabled us to collaborate on the regeneration of public spaces, the improvement of mobility, and the creation of green areas, always prioritizing social cohesion and long-term sustainability over any superficial metric.
